In this recently completed wooden pergola installation in Sea Point, Cape Town, the wood used was sugar gum. For roofing, we installed clear polycarbonate roofing sheets on top offering protection from rain, wind and partial protection from the sun.
These pergola perspex roofing sheets offer excellent optical clarity, ranging up to 92% light transmission making the use of clear plastic sheets an advantageous option for use as a roof of a pergola similar to that of a skylight.
