What is a Pergola?

A pergola is an outdoor garden structure that consists of columns or posts that support a roof or framework of beams and rafters.
The roof or framework is typically open and does not provide full shade or protection from rain, but it can be used to provide partial shade, support climbing plants, or create an attractive architectural element in a garden or outdoor living space. We do offer the additional installation of either wood or clear polycarbonate roofing sheets on top offering protection from rain, wind and partial protection from the sun.
These polycarbonate roofing sheets/pergola perspex roofing sheets offer excellent optical clarity, ranging up to 92% light transmission making the use of clear plastic sheets an advantageous option for use as a roof of a pergola similar to that of a skylight.
Pergolas are often used as a decorative feature in landscaping, to create a seating area, or to frame a walkway or entrance. They can be made from a variety of materials, including wood, metal, vinyl, or a combination of materials, and can be designed in a range of styles to suit different architectural and aesthetic preferences.
